Sri Lakshmi Hayagreeva College, Melukote.

It is a matter of Pride that Sri Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy Educational and Charitable Trust took over the management of the PU college located in Melukote - a sacred pilgrimage attracting thousands of devotees everyday, a sacred sojourn of Sri Sri Cheluvanarayana Swamy and Yoganarasimha Swamy, from "Janapada Seva Trust" in the month of June 2005.

This college is located in a serene atmosphere at the foot of a hillock aboding Sri Yoganarasimha Swamy with an ambience of the famous temple of Sri Cheluva- Narayana Swamy. The establishment of this college in Melukote has been of great advantage to those rural folk who have an ambition to pursuing their higher education after 10th standard. The college attracts students from villages situated in 8 kilometer radius around this pilgrimage. The college enjoys a strength of about 200 students studying in different courses related to Arts Faculty.

A College and Beyond

The Management has been meticulous not only in creating the required infrastructure but also in maintaining and enhancing them as per need of time over the years.

The institutions have made continuous and sustained efforts to adopt innovations in teaching and learning.

With the state-of-the-art infrastructure, computer facilities, Internet facilities in all the departments of the institution raise the level of competence of the teachers. The use of computers and the Internet by the students is encouraged by allowing them to utilise the facilities free of cost preparing them to face the present competitive society.

His Holiness the present pontiff of Parakala Mutt is kind enough to provide Daily "Free Mid- Day Meal" to the students of PU College Melukote to encourage the rural folk to join the mainstream of education. This unique programme has been managed single-handedly by the reverend present pontiff.

Facilities:- All these institutions have students- friendly library with adequate number of text books, books of reference, literary and Historic  Works  for the benefit of faculty and the students. The Management is keen on providing e-library facility and has made library available from morning till evening to support learning process.

Facilities for different sports events are available and the students are  encouraged to involve in indoor/outdoor games. There are provisions for carom, chess, throw-ball, basketball, cricket, table-tennis, lawn tennis etc.,

Facilities for different cultural activities like debate, drama, music, dance and Painting are provided.

In order to instill all round development of students the Management has  introduced spiritual activities like Yoga, Meditation, Class room prayer, and periodical spiritual discourses.

Student support services include student welfare schemes like medical support, Question Bank, Book Bank, Fee concession to Poor and meritorious students, personality development programmes, hygienic toilets, clean and potable water facility.

In order to propagate general and scientific awareness, literary club, News letter club, to accommodate scientific writings, academic and personal counselling, Teachers- Parents meet have been organised with able guidance of faculty members in addition to career guidance.

Students are streamlined into three categories, soon after admissions by the concerned nominated class coordinators in order to identify slow learners, average learners and advanced learners. Remedial coaching classes are provided by the existing faculty members.

Establishment of Audio-visual Room, augmentation of laboratory facilities, automation of library and office, inter departmental connectivity speak about the quality of the institution.

It is needless to say that the service of the trust is non pareil.
